Has anyone successfully secured new funding recently?

We secured a small grant via our local CVS for young carers outreach—nothing huge but it’s helped us test a new approach with schools.
We were successful in a recent LA bid—honestly I think what made the difference was clear case studies + quantified outcomes.
We didn’t win ours, but feedback was that we needed to be more explicit about cost vs impact, not just service quality.
Has anyone actually figured this out? Because honestly… as a carer, I don’t get why it’s this hard.
You always hear “there’s funding out there” but trying to access it feels like hitting a wall. There’s no clear system, everything’s scattered, and half the time you don’t even know what you’re eligible for or who to ask.
It just feels like the system wasn’t built with actual carers in mind. We’re already juggling so much, and then expected to navigate complicated funding on top of that.
If anyone’s managed to actually secure something, I’d really like to know how.
As a carer, I keep hearing there’s support out there, but trying to access it feels unnecessarily difficult. Everything seems fragmented, unclear, and hard to navigate when you’re already dealing with day-to-day caring responsibilities.
It would be really helpful to understand why there are so many barriers in place — and if anyone has found a way through, I’d really appreciate hearing how.
